12 Improv Sewing: Cowl Neck Duffle

Happy belated Thanksgiving folks!
My belly is full and spirits high and I'm particularly excited to share with you my first Improv Sewing project, the cowl neck duffle.
When Kelley and Rachael posted about their new sewing adventure, I had to take part. The concept is easy... get the book, Improv Sewing, every month they'll pick a project from the book, everyone does it and we all post about our creations. Easy. What I like about this sew along is seeing everyone's interpretation on the same project.
I wasn't able to participate in the first project, the linen placemats, but when I found out the next project was the cowl neck duffle, I was rarin' to go! At first glance this project can be daunting for some, but after reading the instructions and how it's broken down, it's actually not scary at all. It was really simple... so simple that I whipped this baby up Thanksgiving morning in between baking.
No joke.
AND Lily Moon got to wear it for dinner.
How cool is that?!
I'm thinking of making one for Lala, Sophie and myself as well in between gift making...
who needs sleep anyway...
SO over rated...
HA!

23 Lala & Lily Moon's Accessories, KCWC pt2

I've seen this in many forms and I think it's just stinkin' cute and it's a smart design. You got your hoodie and scarf all in one, AND it has pockets at the ends of the scarf to keep your paws hands warm. I created my own pattern which was quite easy, really.
I used flannel fabric for the outside and scarf and Oh Deer! by Momo for Moda for the lining.
Hey, I just realized something... you could even make this reversible! Oh yah!
Lily Moon's pretty stoked.
Of course I couldn't make one...
TAH-DAH!!!
I had to make another one, but this one I modified the little hat and scarflette for Lala. Again, I created my own pattern and I am very happy.
I used the Heather Ross Far Far Away series fabric and the linen cotton blend is just yummy. I had originally intended to use this fabric for a capelette, but I think I'll get much more use out this one instead. Plus, I can use the extra fabric to make another one!
Hmmm... maybe for the shop? What do you think?
Okay... this is a rarity. To get her to stand still and pose for me, especially when her "man" (aka, Dadddy) isn't around is a treat. She is Daddy's girl 100%. When he's around, forget about it! No one else matters.
*humph!*
Whatever.
I'll just savor the moments when he's not around. I'll sneak in my kisses then!

Y'wanna make one? Maybe two???

0 be your best

Hi everyone!
I want to talk to you (the kids) about why it's important to be the best you can be. Just recently I received the Eastlake Optimist Club of Chula Vista's Student of The Year award for 2012 and it took hard work and focus.
I received a medal and $50 cash!
Sometimes it can be hard to do your best. Many times I don't want to do my homework or clean my room, and sometimes I make poor choices, but not doing the right thing has consequences like not being able to play on my Xbox or listen to my iPod. It's always important to try your best no matter what you're doing or where you are. If you study hard, you will go far and might even be rewarded with cool things like medals or awards, and when you get older you could get scholarships or even go to a really nice college.
One of the worlds most awesome teachers, Mr. Ly.
You just have to study hard and get good grades (maybe even be the teacher's pet... I hear that has perks). That's all there is to it! I know it sounds easy and I know it's not, but just try.
Oh, and avoid any bullies. They'll just bring you down. Just ignore them and avoid any drama. After that, school is a worry-free place and actually fun. Here's another tip: try to participate in clubs or Student Council. Get involved!
Waiting to receive my award.
I'm the Student Body President and Sergeant Leader in Safety Patrol. If I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!
It was fun talking to you... I have to go and do my homework.

Bye!

2 APP time

Hi boys and girls!  Lily Moon here and I want to share with you a couple of my favorite apps.  If you have an iPod or iPhone or even an iPad, then let me introduce you to:
Toca Boca Kitchen

Don't be fooled by kiddish looks, it's actually quite entertaining!  How you play is you pick a customer first (there are 4 different characters), then you pick a food item from the fridge, next you can decide how to prepare your food and finally, you feed it to your customer.  Sometime they'll eat it, sometimes they give you a funny look!

Choose your character.
Prepare the food.
You can get this app here.   I give this a 4 star rating!
The next app I want to share with you is Toca Boca Hair Salon.

I think this one is my favorite of the two!
Here are some of my hairstyles:

Funny huh?!
Get the app here.  I give this app 5 stars!!
The cool thing about this app is that it's free!  If you don't have your own iPhone, iPod, or iPad, you can always ask your parents to put this app on theirs!
Bye for now!
